Small village shop in Lapland aims for global visibility – over 371,000 followers in Finland from a village of 600 residents.
The shopkeeper promises to personally come and get someone from any part of the world if this picture gets 1.000.000 likes.
Who is he? Why is he doing this? What is the point?
His name is Sampo. He titles himself as a “crazy shopkeeper”. By crazy he means he does everything extraordinary and out of the box. He wears the title crazy with a huge pride.
He owns the largest grocery store in Lapland, in a village called Äkäslompolo. He is an entrepreneur in the third generation. His aim is to make Äkäslompolo a household name globally.
For this reason he has given away 10.000 euros for the simple reason of reaching a step of 350.000 likes on facebook. And again, why? Lapland is a unknown paradise. He wants people around the world to come and visit. It has the cleanest air in Europe, scenery unimaginable.
